Then those who feared the Lord talked often to each other ; and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him of those who reverenced and worshiped the Lord and who meditated on His name. Mal. 3 :16
God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit speak to each other. And they invite us into a conversation which is sanctified by the Trinity. In this blog we want to share regularly our thoughts and to read yours so that we can encourage each other.
Why The Way?
For us, for Exo, for you and for the Church.
After a long period during which we have left a field in fallow, why not another worship CD like our previous ones, like the Eclats series in French? The songs are all ready…
I believe that the Spirit led us to produce this album now, before moving on to other projects. We trust in our Good Shepherd that he never leads us astray. And He who prepares a table before us, who fills our cup, is also He who leads us through the valley of the shadow of death. Jesus, who learned obedience through suffering, even unto death does not spare us this reality: Suffering and death are unavoidable along the way that leads us to resurrection life. The Way is not for those who are seeking a superficial experience with God. Its unpopular message becomes for us either a stone which crushes us or a rock on which we build our lives. Humanly we all look for ways to avoid suffering, the cross, and to find another way. We try to save our lives. But “he who seeks to save his life will lose it, whereas he who loses his life for my sake will find it.” Matt. 16:25 And what is true for us personally is also true for the Church. The Church is actually at the crossroads of a huge reformation, much greater than the one that happened five hundred years ago. In a reformation everything gets shaken. And it is only that which has been built on the Truth which remains to experience resurrection… after “three days”.
That’s one reason why I think it is time for The Way. The cross is planted at the crossroads of our histories. Let’s pause before it to be sure that we are still on the right path. Contemplate the face of God in Christ. And then in surrender, take up our cross and follow in His footsteps. He will lead us to Spring with its love songs and its éclats (explosions) of joy.
O Jesus, draw us close to your heart. We want to gaze at Your beauty and reflect Your glory and be what You told us we are, the light of the world.
